The gold sword - bearing the name of Pharoah Ramesses II - was among a trove of artifacts found inside a 3,200-year-old military barracks.

Archaeologists have unearthed the ancient remains of an Egyptian army barracks and the artifacts left there, including a still-shiny bronze sword engraved with the name of King Ramses II in hieroglyphics.

Egyptian archaeologists have announced that they recently discovered a bronze sword bearing the symbol of King Ramesses II, the pharaoh mentioned in the Book of Exodus.

The bronze sword was unearthed by archaeologists at an ancient fort in the Nile Delta. It was emblazoned with the signature emblem of Ancient Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II.

Ramses the Great is credited with expanding Egypt's reach as far as modern Syria to the east and Sudan to the south.
